Simon Mordant, AM
Simon is Executive Co-Chairman of Luminis Partners and brings over 30 years of leading advisory experience to our clients. Simon has been a practising corporate adviser in Australia since 1984 and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants. Simon previously co-founded Caliburn Partnership (sold to Greenhill in 2010) and prior to that was Head of Corporate Finance at BZW Australia and ABN AMRO. 

Simon is a director of the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, a director of MOMA PS1 in New York, a Trustee of the American Academy in Rome, a member of the International Council of The Museum of Modern Art in New York, a member of the Executive Committee of the Tate International Council, a member of the Wharton Executive Board for Asia and a member of the NSW Arts & Culture Advisory Committee. He was Australian Commissioner for the 2013 & 2015 Venice Biennale and Deputy President of the Takeovers Panel 2000-2010.

Ron Malek
Ron is Executive Co-Chairman of Luminis Partners with over 25 years of leading corporate and financial advisory experience. Ron previously co-founded Caliburn (sold to Greenhill in 2010) where he led the firm as Vice Chairman and Managing Director. Prior to Greenhill, Ron was Australian Head of the Consumer Sector at BZW and ABN Amro. 

Ron's major advisory roles include Patrick Corp.’s takeover defence of Toll Limited’s hostile offer, advising Westpac Banking Corporation on its $18 billion merger with St George Bank and advising Lion Nathan on its $8.2 billion minority take out by Kirin. Ron is a director of the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA), the Sydney Children’s Hospital Foundation, a member of the Australian Takeovers Panel, a member of the University of New South Wales (UNSW) Council’s Investment Committee, and a member of the Australian Paralympic Committee's Investment Committee.

Jamie Garis
Jamie has been advising Australian and multinational companies and Government on their M&A and capital markets strategies for over 17 years. Jamie was most recently Co-Head and Managing Director of Greenhill Australia, and served as a member of Greenhill’s global management committee. Prior to that, Jamie was a Managing Director of Caliburn, and has also served with Ernst & Young Corporate Finance. 

Jamie's recent major advisory roles include advising Westpac Banking Corporation on its $18 billion merger with St George Bank and advising Suncorp on the sale of a $1.6 billion portfolio of non-performing loans to Goldman Sachs. Jamie is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and a Fellow Financial Services Institute of Australasia (FINSIA), where Jamie also serves as a Lecturer for the Mergers & Acquisitions graduate diploma course.

Peter Brownie
Peter has been advising Australian and multinational companies on their M&A and capital markets strategies for over 20 years. Peter was most recently a Managing Director at Morgan Stanley and previously a consultant at the LEK Partnership.

Peter has a specialised focus on the healthcare, media and consumer & retail sectors. Peter's significant recent M&A roles include the sale of Peters Ice Cream, advising The Coca-Cola Company’s acquisition of a 35% shareholding in Coca-Cola Indonesia and defence adviser to Foodland on its agreed Scheme of Arrangement with Metcash and Woolworths. Recent equity capital market roles include the IPO of APN Outdoor and the IPO of Nine Entertainment, with recent debt advisory roles including the refinancing of Virtus Health and financial and structuring adviser to Bain Capital on its $750 million debt facilities for the MYOB acquisition.

Peter is a director of the Sydney Dance Company and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants.

Richard Marques
Richard has been advising Australian and multinational companies and Government on their M&A and capital markets strategies for over 15 years. Richard was most recently Executive Director of Greenhill Australia. Prior to that, Richard was an Associate Director at Deloitte. 

Richard’s recent advisory roles include advising Specialty Fashion Group on its response to a control proposal from Al Alfia, Autosports Group on its IPO and Metcash on its acquisition of Home Timber & Hardware Group. Previous major advisory roles include advising Lion Nathan on its $8.2 billion minority takeout by Kirin and GrainCorp on its conditional agreement to recommend a takeover offer by Archer Daniels Midlands ($3.5 billion).

Richard is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.
